We are multi award winning and nationally known and that doesn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of their dedication and commitment and, of course, of great leadership of  Chef Patron Dave Wall, Head Chef Karl Green and Jackie Ha our General Manager.

William Sitwell, food critic of the Daily Telegraph gave us a very rare 5 star review (the only locally) and said that we set the benchmark for the new norm for restaurants. We were named as ‘Best Pub’ by the GQ Food and Drink Awards 2023 and we are the only pub or restaurant in Suffolk to be listed in the National Restaurant Awards 2024 at Number 56.The Sunday  Times have recommended us in 2024 as a best UK Sunday Roast.Moreover, our front of house team are the only team nationally to have won ‘Best Front of House Team’ award twice in the Estrella Damm UK Top 50 Gastropub Awards. But most importantly, we are privileged and honoured to have been named Number 1 and Winner of the Estrella Damm UK Top 50 Gastropub Awards twice in 2024 (and 2022!).

Our team’s £ tips are the highest Suffolk has to offer – the result of their hard work and the esteem with which they are held by our lovely customers.
